Afghanistan, a photograph to save women

Three months ago i Taliban entered Kabul. The images of fleeing civilians, of women fully covered, of children passed from one wall to another of the airport in search of safety have been around the world. More than 80 thousand people have been evacuated. But how do those who remain in the country live? What is happening to the women?

We know that they have been denied education, sport, publicity. They are forced to marry prematurely, are sold, used as a bargaining chip. Life denied. We know that many have been killed and just as many are launching appeals to leave the country and regain the right to a dignified future. To support them, there are many initiatives put in place by associations from various countries around the world.

One of the latest is Solidarity Fine Art, Donate a Photograph at Christmas, the fundraising campaign in support of Afghan women, which involves the solidarity network Women for Women and 29 Italian photographers of the Women Photographers Association, who have created a photographic series that tells the life of women, from East to West. Yesterday and today.

Organizations will be supported by purchasing an author’s photo CISDA (Italian Coordination of Support for Afghan Women Onlus), PANGEA always at the forefront in Afghanistan for the support and empowerment of women, EMERGENCY, still present in the area with hospitals and health facilities. The photos, printed on fine art paper and accompanied by their certification, will be available until the end of November 2021, with a minimum bid of € 150 for each 30x40cm print. The purchase must be completed by the end of November 2021, here all the info.
