Afghanistan – Ashraf Ghani: I left Kabul to stop the bloodshed, I did not get money

Its president Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani, speaking from the United Arab Emirates where he went, said on Wednesday that he had left Kabul in order to prevent a bloodshed, while he denied, among other things, the information that they wanted to take large sums of money with him, when he left the presidential palace.

“If I had stayed, I would have witnessed a bloodshed in Kabul,” Ghani said in a video posted on Facebook in his first public statements since confirmed as it is in the UAE, as reported by Reuters. He added, however, that he left the country after and from tips government officials.

“At the moment, I am in the Emirates so that the blood stops flowing and the chaos stops,” he said in his message, in his first appearance since abandoned the Afghan capital.

The President of Afghanistan also stated that supports the negotiations between the Taliban and former high-ranking officials of the country, adding that he is “in talks to return” to his country, from where he left this weekend to seek refuge in the United Arab Emirates.

“I support the government’s initiative to negotiate with (the former vice-president) Abdullah Abdullah and the former president Hamid Karzai (s.s. his predecessor). “I wish this process success,” he said.
