For “high risk of terrorist attack” around its airport Kabul warned the Foreign Office on Thursday night (26/8).
“The security situation in Afghanistan remains extremely fluid. There is an ongoing and great threat of a terrorist attack. “Do not travel to Hamid Karzai International Airport,” said the British Foreign Office’s travel directive.
British Foreign Secretary Dominique Raab spoke by telephone with his US counterpart Anthony Blinken and expressed his condolences to the British government over the deaths of US troops in Kabul.
“They paid the ultimate sacrifice while helping others reach safety. I also want to express my condolences to the families of all Afghans who have been killed or injured. “It is tragic that while seeking security they suffered at the hands of terrorists,” he added.
