A British citizen is missing after his arrest by the Taliban in Kabul, the British tabloid Daily Mirror wrote on Friday.
There has been no news of Grand Bailey, a 50-year-old NGO worker in Afghanistan, since he was arrested at gunpoint on Saturday, a source close to the British security services was quoted as saying.
“We are aware of the arrest of a British national in Afghanistan and are in contact with his family to support him,” said a spokesman for the British Foreign Office.
When the French agency tried to contact them to ask for information about the fate of the British, Taliban officials did not respond.
Concern in London is growing as he ignores what happened to him, where he is being held and why, according to the Mirror, according to which Grand Bailey returned to Afghanistan in September after the Taliban seized power.
