The extremist organization Islamic state took responsibility for attack committed by two suicide bombers in the middle of Friday prayers (15/10) in a Shiite mosque Kandahar in the Afghanistan. The announcement was broadcast by Amak, his propaganda instrument Islamic State. At least 41 people were killed and dozens more were injured. According to local officials and eyewitnesses, the area’s hospitals were full.
According to the announcement, two Islamic State fighters shot and killed the guards of the mosque, invaded the place of worship and detonated the explosives with which they had lived between two groups of worshipers, one of which numbered about 300 people. According to eyewitnesses, there were several explosions in the mosque Φατεμιέχ, in the center Kandahar, the second most populous city in the country. The attack took place in the cradle of the Islamist movement Taliban, who regained power in Afghanistan on the 15th of August and is the first time that Islamic state hits her Kandahar.
This is the second consecutive Friday that a mosque is attacked in Afghanistan during prayer with dozens of dead. It is recalled that last week dozens of people were killed in a similar attack on the city’s Shiite mosque Kunduz. The responsibility was taken by Islamic State of Khorasan.
