The Organization of Islamic Cooperation is concerned that Afghanistan will become a “terrorist haven” after they seize power Taliban in Kabul and calls for dialogue to resolve the crisis.
The Jeddah-based organization, which is preparing a mission in Afghanistan to emphasize the importance of “peace, stability and national reconciliation”, calls on Afghanistan’s future leaders and the international community to ensure that Afghanistan is no longer used as a terrorist organization or platform and not to allow terrorist organizations to set foot on Afghan soil, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation said in a statement.
The OIC warns of the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan due to the growing number of displaced people and refugees and calls on “Member States, Islamic economic institutions and partners to take swift action to provide urgent humanitarian assistance to areas of Afghanistan need.
