The Taliban have announced a new government in Afghanistan led by one of its top officials and an interior minister who is on the FBI wanted list, according to the BBC.
It will be led by Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, with Taliban co-founder Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar as his deputy, a spokesman told reporters.
“We know the people of our country were waiting for a new government,” said Zabiullah Mujahid.
The interior minister will be Sarajuddin Haqqani, who is wanted by the FBI and defense minister Mullah Yaqoob.
