A family from Michigan, in the United States, received the first girl in the lineage after 130 years of only boys.
Carolyn and Andrew Clark were expecting their second child when they found out that there was finally a girl in the family. The baby was born on the 17th of March, the date on which St. Patrick’s Day.

for the program “Good Morning America“from the American broadcaster ABC, Carolyn said that when she started dating Andrew, she did not believe in the story of a family of only boys.
“I was like, ‘Oh, it’s a 50-50 chance every time. What are you saying?’. And he assured me that they hadn’t had girls in their direct lineage in over 100 years.
I remember asking her parents to confirm the information. He has uncles and cousins who had girls, but in his direct lineage, there are no girls,” she explained.
According to Clark family records, they haven’t had a girl born in the family since 1885. The Clarks even said that having a girl was even more special after they lost a baby in January 2021.
“When we found out we were having a baby, we weren’t worried about whether it would be a boy or a girl. We were just happy and praying for a healthy pregnancy and baby. Being a girl was just the icing on the cake.”

In September last year, they found out the baby’s sex with a revelation shower for the whole family, in which the answer was in the filling of the cookies. “I was shocked.
I stared at the filling and thought, “It’s really pink.” It was a nice surprise for us”, declared Andrew Clark.
