After 30 days, Firefighters end search for missing paratrooper in Manaus

The Amazonas Fire Department has paralyzed the search for parachutist Luiz Henrique Cardelli, who has disappeared since April 15 after a group that had jumped in Manaus was surprised by a sudden change in the weather. One woman died.

According to firefighters, Cardelli would have fallen into the Rio Negro after being carried away by strong winds. The searches involved a collective effort between various bodies such as the Army, Navy, Civil and Military Police and the Air Force.

Also according to the Fire Department, an area of ​​600 square kilometers was scanned – efforts found bodies of other people who had drowned in the river, but no sign of Cardelli.

After a month of searches, the Fire Department considered the search ended, but emphasizes that any new information about the location of the parachutist must be shared with the corporation, which will reopen the search.

Since the accident, the Parachuting Confederation has suspended jumps in Manaus until the completion of the accident report.
