After appeal denied, Regina Duarte’s company will have to return R$ 319 thousand from the Rouanet Law

The federal government has disapproved of the accountability of a cultural project by actress Regina Duarte, former Minister of Culture in the government of Jair Bolsonaro (PL), which was financed by the Rouanet Law. With the decision, published in the Official Gazette (DOU) this Thursday (21), the actress’ company will have to return R$ 319,600 to the federal government.

In March 2018, the then Ministry of Culture had disapproved of the accounts of the play “Coração Bazar”, produced by the group “A Vida é Sonho Produções Artísticas Ltda.”

The company would have raised BRL 321,000 for the production of the show, and, after a decision by the ministry, should return BRL 319,600 to the National Culture Fund, according to information released by Veja magazine.

The company filed an appeal, which was denied by the special secretary of Culture Hélio Ferraz on Monday (18), being published in the DOU this Thursday.

The 2018 publication highlights that the resource raised by the project would be for “setting up and performing the theatrical show Ana Jansen”, by Lenita de Sá, with a dramaturgical adaptation by Lauro César Muniz, to be held in the city of São Paulo.

THE CNN tried to contact the company “A Vida é Sonho Produções Artísticas Ltda.”, on the night of this Thursday (21), but still did not get a response.
