After attack by the Red Command, internet provider encloses activities

After attacks by the Criminal Faculty Comando Vermelho to Internet providers in Ceará, GPX Telecom announced the closing of activities.

GPX had been providing internet services since 2016. “Unfortunately, in a mere 20 minutes, acts of vandalism devastated everything we built,” the company said in a statement.

At the end of the statement, the company said it waits for justice in the face of the situation. The faction attacks in early March also resulted in the suspension of services from other companies.

The Civil Police of the State of Ceará arrested 17 suspects of participation in the attacks. Of the 17 prisoners, two were considered faction leaders in the state.

Operation “Strike” aimed to combat actions by criminal groups against providing companies.

Brisanet, another company that suffered attacks, said in a note sent to CNN which is adopted security protocols.
