President Joe Biden will return to the White House from Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, earlier than planned, according to a statement from White House officials.
The decision comes after the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump during a rally in Pennsylvania this Saturday (13). The two have already spoken.
Biden is scheduled to arrive at the White House at 12:30 p.m. local time on Sunday (14), the statement said.
The US leader was originally scheduled to stay in Delaware until Monday (15) and fly directly to Texas for events.
In a speech, Biden said that “everyone” should condemn the act against Trump.
“The bottom line is that the Trump rally should have been conducted peacefully, without any trouble. But the idea that there is political violence or violence like this in America is simply unheard of, it is simply not appropriate,” Biden said in a news conference in Delaware.
“Everyone must condemn him. Everyone,” he added.
According to the president, “all federal government agencies” are investigating the matter and sending reports on the latest developments.
The Democrat also said he has “an opinion” on whether the shooting at former President Donald Trump’s Pennsylvania rally was an assassination attempt, but that he did not have enough facts to comment.
