After death of fan and postponement due to heat, Taylor Swift shows in Rio will start later

Time For Fun (T4F), the company that produces Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour shows in Brazil, announced this Saturday (18) that the North American singer’s next shows in Rio de Janeiro will start an hour later.

The shows she will perform at the Nilton Santos stadium, Engenhão, on Sunday (19) and Monday (20) will start at 8:30 pm. Previously, the presentations were scheduled for 7:30 pm.

Sabrina Carpenter, the singer who opens the singer’s tour in Brazil, takes the stage at 7:30 pm instead of 6:25 pm, the time originally announced by the producer.

“On these days, we recommend that you arrive at the stadium closer to the opening time of the gates to avoid long periods of exposure to the sun in the external areas of the stadium”, wrote T4F in a post made on its official Instagram account.

The announcement comes after Taylor Swift postponed her concert this Saturday at the Nilton Santos stadium, Engenhão, until Monday (20) due to the strong heat wave hitting the city of Rio de Janeiro.

This Saturday, the capital of Rio de Janeiro broke the year’s temperature record with 43.8°C, the highest value recorded in Rio since 2008. The thermal sensation reached 59.7°C.

On the artist’s first day of performance, young Ana Clara Benevides, aged 23, died after suffering a cardiorespiratory arrest at the beginning of the show. The causes of death will be investigated by the Rio de Janeiro Civil Police.
