After exemption, businessmen mobilized for the PEC of the Precatório in the Senate

After President Jair Bolsonaro’s (non-party) announcement that he will extend the exemption to 17 sectors of the economy for another two years, businessmen who participated with him in the meeting at Planalto Palace that preceded the announcement plan a mobilization in the Senate for the approval of the PEC of Precatório.

The reason is that at the closed-door meeting, Bolsonaro, according to those present, stated that the exemption would be facilitated if the PEC were approved in the house. Today, there is resistance to it after its approval in the Chamber.

“We are going to talk to senators who are connected with the 17 sectors that will benefit, which are the ones that employ the most in the country. We are also going to activate mayors and deputies”, said the president of the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein, Ricardo Santin.

According to him, Bolsonaro asked the PEC for help at the meeting which also included ministers Paulo Guedes (Economy), Tereza Cristina (Agriculture) and seven other businessmen from the call center, telecommunications infrastructure, software, transport, heavy industry sectors. and footwear.

Each of the businessmen made it clear to the president that, if the exemption was not extended, unemployment would increase as well as the price of products.

On the eve of an election year in which he will face a difficult campaign by all polls, Bolsonaro relented. He also said that since the electoral campaign he has defended the tax exemption, that he would never want to be a boss in Brazil due to the tax burden, but that it was necessary to have support for the approval of the PEC.
