After fire, Heathrow airport in London can already receive flights

Heathrow airport in London has recently reported that it can already receive flights after a power cut caused by a fire in a power substation. Aerodrome administration expects to resume the full operation on Saturday (22).

“We can now restart the flights safely, prioritizing the repatriation and relocation of aircraft,” the airport administration said through a statement on social networks.

Passengers, however, continue to be oriented not to go to the airport unless they have been advised by the airlines.

“We hope to perform a complete operation tomorrow and will provide more information soon,” said a spokesman.

The lights inside the main building of Heathrow Airport Terminal 4 in London have returned to light, according to reporters from the PA news agency on site. The elevators in the terminal parking lot also operated again.

This happens after British public service company National Grid stated that he had restored the energy for “parts of Heathrow” provisionally.

The airport administration, however, said it is unclear when its supply will be “reliably restored” and is still asking passengers not to go to the scene.

Hours earlier, the London Fire Department had stated that there was no energy in terminals 2 and 4, suggesting that terminals 3 and 5 probably had energy at that time.
