The pre-candidates for the presidency Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and Ciro Gomes (PDT) said this Friday (17) that President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) is responsible for the adjustment in fuel prices, announced by Petrobras.
Gasoline sold to distributors rose 5.18%, and diesel, 14.26%.
At a PT event in Alagoas, Lula said that reducing ICMS, as proposed by Bolsonaro, does not result in lower fuel prices. According to the PT, the president will only harm the governors.
“He [Bolsonaro] it will reduce the ICMS, and everything it will do will harm the state governments, because there will be a lack of money for education and money for health. And the price of gasoline, which he said would go down, Petrobras has already increased today, the equivalent of what it will go down. I want to say to you, what is lacking in this country is not money. What is lacking in this country is people willing to say: ‘We’re going to put the poor people in the budget of city halls, states and the Union’.”
Lula also returned to criticize Bolsonaro’s speech that it is necessary to privatize the state-owned company.
“You were told a lie. They said it was important to privatize BR. They said that BR had a monopoly. sold to BR [Distribuidora]. Do you know how many companies have important gasoline today? We have 392 companies importing gasoline from the United States. Why do I have to impose the international price on a product that is national?”
In an interview this Friday, the president stated that he asked the president of the Chamber, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), to set up a CPI to investigate the management of Petrobras. No Twitter, Ciro Gomes disse que quem precisa de CPI é o próprio Bolsonaro.
According to the pedestrian, the new adjustment by Petrobras shows that the ICMS does not change the price of fuel.
