After his cancer diagnosis, plans for Charles III's funeral “are regularly updated”: “The king is very ill”

King's health condition Charles III «are progressively getting worse», so much so that Buckingham Palace officials «regularly update the plan for his funeral”. Several royal sources said this to al Daily Beastexplaining that the 75-year-old monarch has since announced he has a cancer he remained as far away from the spotlight as possible precisely «to hide his health conditions, which are progressively worsening»: «The situation is not good. Obviously the sovereign is determined to beat cancer and everyone remains optimistic, but him he's really very sick. More than the Palace lets on,” an old friend of the royal family told the tabloid.

Behind the scenes, therefore, the royal staff is apparently working hard on the hundreds of pages detailing the plans for King Charles's funeral, nicknamed «Operation Menai Bridge»: «The plans have been dusted off and are being actively updated. It's no surprise given that the king has been diagnosed with cancer. But the circulation of those cards causes everyone concern”, he said to Daily Best a former member of the royal staff. Military sources instead claim that “the”Operation Menai Bridge“is regularly updated”, which is “a standard procedure» where it is «absurd” to want to read gloomy predictions about the fate of King Charles.

The document planning King Charles' funeral was created the day after Queen Elizabeth's burial, on September 8, 2022. As royal tradition dictates, it is the monarch himself decides every detail of his funeral rite. The plan for the funeral of the British rulers, then, must have a code name: King Charles, Prince of Wales for sixty-four years before his accession to the throne, chose «Operation Menai Bridge» to pay homage to a Welsh bridge. Her mother, Queen Elizabeth, had instead chosen “Operation London Bridge”, from the name of the famous London bridge.

To avoid problems, King Charles would have chosen to use the funeral of his mother queen as a guide for his funeral: «At the Palace they are examining every aspect of the Menai Bridge», said a senior official involved in planning the royal funeral rites. «The final farewell to the Queen took place with the precision of clockwork, setting a high standard. And now no one intends to be caught unprepared.”
