After just 8 months, TikTok Music will cease to exist; see how to transfer data

TikTok announced that its music app — the Tiktok Music — will close on November 28th . According to the platform, the reason is promote other music platforms undoing the path that the software took to get to them.

THE creation of new accounts was blocked on September 24th and users who have subscribed with an end date after the day of canceling the application can request a refund.

To avoid losing playlists, Tiktok recommends that songs be transferred to other music streaming platforms.

“We will close TikTok Music at the end of November to focus on our goal of strengthening TikTok’s role in promoting even greater music listening and bringing value to music streaming services for the benefit of artists, songwriters and the industry,” said Ole Obermann, Global Music Business Development Lead at TikTok in a press release.

The playlist transfer service will only be available until October 28th, one month before the application closes, and must be done via the TuneMyMusic website — used to exchange music between streaming platforms.
