US President Joe Biden met with Ukrainian refugees during his visit to Poland on Saturday (26). As he left the meeting, Biden spoke to the press and cursed Vladimir Putin when asked what he thinks of the Russian president’s attitude towards Ukraine.
“He is a butcher,” declared the US president.
Biden told reporters he spoke to children and heard requests for prayers for family members such as grandparents and siblings. “I remember when you have someone in a war zone, you pray every day, you don’t wait for a phone call,” said the US leader.
One of Biden’s questions as he left the meeting with the refugees was about Mariupol, a Ukrainian port city that is one of the main targets of attacks by Russian forces.
“They don’t have anything there anymore, it’s unbelievable,” Biden said.
The US president also met with chef José Andrés and volunteers in Warsaw, Poland, at a food distribution site. The place is the non-profit organization Andrés’ World Center Kitchen, dedicated to providing meals after disasters.
