The Civil Police confirmed that they had identified the bodies of fishermen Albino Yoshimassa, 71 years old, and Tairon de Almeida, 33, who had been missing since the 19th in Ilhabela, on the north coast of São Paulo. The bodies were located by the Fire Department's Maritime Group last Saturday (27).
The tourists disappeared after going fishing in an aluminum boat with Tsuyoshi Yamaguti, 65, who had also disappeared at the time, but whose body was found a day after the incident.
According to the Fire Department, on the day of the disappearance, the trio had gone fishing around 3pm. During the night, around 9pm, the men had not yet returned to the house where they were staying. It was at that moment that the local caretaker claimed to have heard screams coming from the sea.
With low light and water conditions, firefighters were only able to effectively carry out the search work the day after the disappearance, when they located the victims' belongings and one of the bodies. Two days later, the boat itself was found by friends of the missing people and residents of the region.
The vehicle had damage to one of the sides, which raised the possibility of a collision with the coast. Now, with the location and identification of the other victims, the case remains under investigation by the Ilhabela Police Station, which will investigate the circumstances of the case.
