After Papa Francisco’s death, Trump orders half a mast in the US

United States President Donald Trump ordered the flags to be raised in half a mast as a “sign of respect for memory” by Pope Francis, who died on Monday (21).

The order applies to “all public buildings and land, military posts and naval stations, federal government vessels in the Columbia district of all the United States and its territories and possessions to the sunset on the day of the burial,” Trump wrote in the proclamation.

It also included “embassies, legations, consular offices and other US facilities abroad, including all military facilities, vessels and naval stations.”

On the southern lawn of the White House, where the Easter egg delivery ceremony was taking place, the American flag at the top of the White House was raised in half a mast on the morning of Monday (21).
