Two weeks after the death of a passenger at a Viamobility station, the São Paulo subway hired security guards to work on the platforms where there is high flow of passengers.
According to the subway, the security guards will guide the boarding and landing of passengers, so that accidents such as the Lourivaldo Ferreira Silva Nepomuceno are avoided. They will work in high flow stations on 2-green and 3-red lines, concentrated at peak times.
“These paintings already worked on the premises of the São Paulo subway, from two contracts made through bidding and in force since 2021 and 2024,” he said in a press release.
Another measure to avoid accidents began to be taken last Friday (16), when the viamobility installed safety bars in line 5-lilac stations. The goal is to reduce the vain between the train and the platform.
In total, 3,500 units of the devices were ordered and the installation is scheduled to happen at night, to “avoid any impact on the operation”, according to the concessionaire.
