After Petrobras readjustment, average price of gasoline is below R$ 6

Gasoline dropped by almost 3% this week, being found, on average, at R$ 5.89 in the country, according to the survey released this Friday (22) by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP). ).

The liter did not fall from R$ 6 since August last year. In the previous week, the value of fuel was R$ 6.07 at gas stations.

The highest price for a liter of gasoline was found in Altamira, Pará, at R$7.75, and the lowest in Passos, a city in Minas Gerais, at R$5.09.

In 16 states and the Federal District, fuel was sold for an average of less than R$6: Alagoas, Amapá, Espírito Santo, Goiás, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Pará, Paraíba, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro , Rio Grande do Sul, Rondônia, Santa Catarina, São Paulo and Sergipe.

The decrease in pumps appears after Petrobras announced a change in the price to distributors, which fell from R$ 4.06 to R$ 3.86, that is, almost 5%. The adjustment took effect last Wednesday (20).

“This reduction follows the evolution of international reference prices, which have stabilized at a lower level for gasoline”, disclosed the company when making the announcement.

At the end of June, gasoline reached a national average of R$ 7.39 per liter. However, the approval of a law by Congress that limited the rate of the Tax on the Circulation of Goods and Provision of Services (ICMS) to 17% or 18% caused a drop in value from this month of July.

This week, ethanol also registered another reduction and fell from R$4.41 to R$4.32, a drop of just over 2%. In common diesel, the decrease was from R$ 7.48 to R$ 7.44 in the same period.

A reduction of R$ 0.02 was observed in CNG, which went from R$ 5.10 to R$ 5.08 per m³. And LPG (cooking gas) reached its third week of decline, going from R$112.18 to R$111.80.

This Friday, President Jair Bolsonaro and the Minister of Mines and Energy, Adolfo Sachsida, projected a drop of another R$0.10 in diesel and gasoline. This is because of the published decree that postpones environmental goals of fuel distributors.

Companies gained three more months to purchase mandatory carbon credits to offset greenhouse gas emissions. With lower operating costs, the government expects them to pass the savings on to the consumer.
