Actor Caio Castro surprised his followers this Tuesday (27) by sharing photos of his new look, using dreadlocks. The change, however, did not please the public.
“For those who want to understand about cultural appropriation… that’s almost it”, wrote one of the netizens. In the same vein, one of the comments read “appropriation in 3,2,1…”
“White doing whiteness”, published another.
In addition to criticism involving the concept of cultural appropriation and the fact that Caio Castro is white — since dreadlocks are commonly associated with blackness —, other comments disapproved of the result.
“How to ruin your hair in 3,2,1”, commented a follower. “Next step … shave,” opined another.
Currently, the actor is part of the cast of the telenovela Toda as Flores, original Globoplay. In the plot, Caio plays Pablo — a vain and pleasure-loving young man.
