After registration in SP, Saúde investigates 7 suspected cases of monkeypox in Brazil

The number of suspected cases of monkeypox investigated by the Ministry of Health rose to seven. The monitored cases are in the states of Ceará, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul, Mato Grosso do Sul, two patients in Rondônia and now one patient in São Paulo. Over the weekend, two suspected cases have already been investigated in Rondônia and were confirmed by the Minister of Health, Marcelo Queiroga, on his Twitter account.

“There are still no confirmed cases of the disease in Brazil. The Ministry of Health remains vigilant, working daily on this front. In addition to the 4 cases that were under investigation, another 2 suspected cases were reported in Rondônia. All remain isolated and under monitoring”, said the minister on the social network.

Queiroga also said that there are no confirmed cases in Brazil. The Ministry of Health, accompanied these cases through the National Situation Room of Monkeypox, which made a notification/investigation form for the entire national territory, establishing the obligation of immediate notification, within 24 hours, by health professionals from public services. or private.

Suspicious cases are considered to be those people who, as of March 15, 2022, have the onset of fever, rash with blisters on the face, hands, feet, eyes, mouth or genitals, fever, swollen lymph nodes, headaches and muscle pain and lack of power.

Prevention measures include seeking medical attention in the face of symptoms, followed by isolation at home. Skin, face and sexual contact with anyone who has symptoms should be avoided. Hands, objects and surfaces that are regularly touched should be sanitized.

The World Health Organization (WHO) also recommends wearing masks if you are in close contact with someone with symptoms.
