After SP, União Brasil also decides not to support PSDB in Minas Gerais

After breaking with the PSDB in São Paulo, União Brasil also decided not to support the party’s pre-candidate in Minas Gerais.

The acronym had been negotiating support for the candidacy of federal deputy Marcus Pestana (PSDB) for the Minas Gerais government.

With the support of the PSDB to the MDB in the presidential succession, União Brasil signaled this Monday (13) an alliance with the PSD, of the former mayor of Belo Horizonte Alexandre Kalil.

This Monday (13), in conversation with the CNN the party’s pre-candidate for the presidential succession, Luciano Bivar, said that it was the PSDB that abandoned the new acronym.

The party leader said that the PSDB is free to make the decision it deems best, but that União Brasil will analyze its party alliances based on a programmatic agenda.

“We did not leave the PSDB. It was the PSDB that left us,” said Bivar. “União Brasil’s support must go through the defense of the democratic state and support for the adoption of a single tax in the country”, he added.

Since last week, the acronym has resumed dialogue with the PT and the Republicans, in São Paulo, after the PSDB announced its support for the name of senator Simone Tebet (MDB-MS) in the dispute for the Planalto Palace.

In conversations with allies, Bivar has emphasized that União Brasil is open to an alliance in São Paulo and that, while the PSDB is in alliance with Simone Tebet, the party will not be with the party.
