After the tragedy that killed at least 50 immigrants in Texas, this Monday (27), the President of the United States, Joe Biden, regretted what happened and said that he will do “everything possible” to prevent the exploitation of immigrants.
The deceased immigrants were discovered inside a truck in the city of San Antonio, where temperatures reached 39.4ºC on Monday. Local and federal officials said there were no signs of water and no working air conditioning inside the truck.
“Yesterday’s loss of life in San Antonio is horrific – my prayers are with those who lost their lives, their loved ones and those still fighting for their lives. My government will continue to do everything possible to prevent criminal smugglers from exploiting migrants,” the president posted on Twitter.

Texas governor blames Biden for tragedy
On social media, Texas Governor Greg Abbott blamed US President Joe Biden for the deaths.
“These deaths are Biden’s fault. They are a result of its deadly open-border policy. They highlight the deadly consequences of their refusal to enforce the law.”
Mexican Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard wrote that the asphyxiation of the migrants in the truck is considered a “tragedy in Texas”, and said the local consulate was on its way to the scene, although the nationalities of the victims have yet to be confirmed. .
