Esporte Clube Bahia announced, in the early hours of this Sunday (26), the resignation of coach Guto Ferreira, who had commanded the club since November 2021.
Under the coach’s command, Bahia played 47 matches, with 20 wins, 10 draws and 12 losses. In addition to Guto, the team’s assistants Alexandre Faganello and André Luis, in addition to physical trainer Valdir Jr.
On Saturday (25), the team from Bahia lost to Novorizontino in the Série B of the Brazilian Championship by 1-0, the third consecutive defeat, all at Arena Fonte Nova, in Salvador (BA).
Last Wednesday (22), Bahia was defeated by Athletico-PR by 2-1 in the first leg of the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil. Eight days earlier, the team lost 1-0 to Chapecoense, which occupied the 18th position in the table at the time.
Despite the bad results in recent games, the Bahian tricolor is in 3rd place in Serie B after 14 rounds.
