Afternoon Session: see what the films of the week will be

THE Afternoon Session this week — which runs from September 30 to October 4 — will feature a selection of classic comedy and dramas recent consecrated.

Among them are “Minions“, a prequel to “Despicable Me” that focuses on ancient yellow beings, and “Mean Girls“, a film that brings together Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Tina Fey, Amanda Seyfried and Lacey Chabert.

Monday (30) – “For All My Life” (2020)

After the groom receives a terminal cancer diagnosis, couple Jenn Carter and Sol Chau — played by Jessica Rothe and Harry Shum Jr — plan their wedding. The plot, inspired by a true story, shows a race against time to do everything to make the party happen in two weeks.

Tuesday (1st) – “An Unusual Asylum” (2020)

Fulfilling a determination to work in a nursing home to avoid going to bed, Milann is forced to perform 300 hours of community service at the Les Mimosas nursing home.

He is quickly adopted by the residents, especially seven inseparable elderly people. Over time, Milann discovers that the establishment is deceiving its members and organizes a great escape.

Wednesday (2) – “Minions” (2015)

In the prequel to “Despicable Me”, the ancient yellow beings have a mission: to serve the greatest villains. In depression since the death of their old master, they try to find a new boss.

Three volunteers, Kevin, Stuart and Bob, go to a villain convention in the United States and there they fall in love with Scarlet Overkill, who aspires to be the first woman to dominate the world.

The dubbing cast includes actors Sandra Bullock, Jon Hamm, Michael Keaton, Allison Janney, Steve Coogan, Jennifer Saunders, Geoffrey Rush and Pierre Coffin.

Thursday (3) – “Mean Girls” (2004)

The plot follows the arrival of new student Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan) who, to help revenge a new friend, joins the school’s preppy group, led by Regina George (Rachel McAdams).

While planning to destroy the girls by pretending to be close to them, the young woman tries to maintain her essence. All this having to endure high school.

Friday (4) – “The Good Friendly Giant” (2016)

Based on the novel of the same name by British writer Roald Dahl, the film stars Mark Rylance, Ruby Barnhill, Bill Hader, Rebecca Hall and Penelope Wilton, and directed by Steven Spielberg.

In the story, little orphan Sophie is captured by a friendly giant who, despite being scary, has a kind soul. The little girl, the Queen of England and the seven meter tall being come together on an adventure to eliminate the evil giants.
