Age of “living intelligence” is decisive for humanity, alert futuristic

The American futurist Amy Webb launched, this Saturday (8), the 18th edition of the Technological Trends Report . Among the points covered are advanced sensors and biotechnology, which are evolving and converging silently. This convergence is giving rise to what webb calls “Living Intelligence” systems capable of feeling, learning, adapting and evolving, transforming the way we interact with technology in the future.

Still according to the Tech Trends Report – presented during the SXSW 2025 Considered one of the largest events of technology, music, innovations and culture in the world – Amy comments that “living intelligence will boost an exponential innovation cycle, acting as an accelerator for previously stagnant technologies, from quantum to robotics computing”.

And warns: “the decisions we make in the next five years will determine the long -term destination of human civilization “.

For her, the convergence of technology is not just changing the way we work or live, it is changing what is human being.

“We are building systems that can reprogram biology, reshape matter at the atomic level and process information in ways that challenge classical physics,” he said. According to the futurist, humanity has seen “sudden and irreversible jumps that fundamentally altered the trajectory of civilization.”

With 1,000 pages, the report also features hundreds of trends published individually in 15 volumes. Check out the 10 main conclusions of the document :

  1. Living intelligence fuses various aspects of AI (artificial intelligence), converging sensors and biotechnology in systems that think, adapt and evolve beyond our reach;
  2. Action models eclipse language models as Ia changes to speak to, remodeling the border of automation;
  3. Robots will begin to leave the factory children, as advanced technology allows adaptability in the real world;
  4. AI system agents start to define their own goals and perform complex decisions, increasing human expertise;
  5. Metamaterials rewrite physical boundaries as projected substances transform the way we build our world;
  6. Technology giants create unlikely alliances as IA demands force old rivals to share computer power and data;
  7. The climate crisis stimulates rapid innovation while extreme climate events accelerate the adoption of state -of -the -art technology;
  8. Nuclear energy resurfaces and AI energy appetite leads technology giants to invest heavily in small modular reactors;
  9. Quantum computing reaches an important milestone while advances in error correction open the way for practical applications;
  10. The private initiative colonizes the cislunar space, giving rise to a Economy between Earth and the Moon that can transform trade.
