Agri-food and Greek food tradition ‘star’ in Expo 2020 Duba

The food and beverage industry is one of the main pillars of Greek processing and an important lever for the development of productive activity, but also for the development course of the country.

In this context, the Hellenic Investment and Foreign Trade Company (Enterprise Greece), on the occasion of organizing the national mission to one of the most important food trade fairs in the Middle East – 26th International Exhibition GULFOOD 2022 – organized a tasting event for the presence of Greek , in the presence of the Greek food and beverage export companies, and their associates, who participated in the exhibition.

According to a relevant announcement, the event was held on February 16, where they were hosted – by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Extroversion of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chairman of the Board of Enterprise Greece, Ioannis Smyrlis and the Executive Advisor and Member of the Board of Enterprise Greece, at the Efzin restaurant which is located on the first floor of the Greek pavilion of Expo2020 Dubai, the Greek companies and their collaborators who participated in the 26th International Exhibition GULFOOD 2022. Under the “baguette” of chef Alexandros Sperchos, the Greek gastronomic culture is introduced through to a demanding international audience and promotes a contemporary perspective of our food tradition.

Greece participates in the Expo 2020 Dubai exhibition with the message “Greece Tomorrow, Today”, presenting its evolution as a modern economy, with significant extroversion and export dynamics, as well as an attractive destination for investors. The aim of the Greek presence at Expo 2020 Dubai, is to present the modern profile of Greece, innovation, digital transformation, extroversion and its prospects as an attractive investment destination. The exhibition will last until March 31, 2022.

In Expo 2020 Dubai, Greece participates with a stand, which presents eight strategic pillars that are at the same time comparative advantages of Greece: Technology / innovation, energy, shipping, tourism and culture, human capital, industry , agri-food and health sciences. Agri-food has a special place in the Greek pavilion of Expo 2020 and is one of the main strategic pillars that are promoted, while the responsibility of the Greek participation in Expo 2020 Dubai lies with Enterprise Greece.

Efzin restaurant “redesigns” the Greek gastronomic culture

The announcement also mentions that the raw materials from the Greek land, with a core of the Mediterranean diet and inspired by the traditional cuisine, the restaurant Efzin at Expo 2020 Dubai, “advertises” the treasures produced by the Greek land.

Chef Alexandros Sperchos prepares traditional recipes, executed with a fresh look. The modern version of moussaka, the dakos, the stew with a different prism, are just some of the creations included in the menu of the Efzin restaurant, where “olive oil”, herbs and products of incomparable quality and nutritional value “star”.
