A private helicopter caused the collapse of a tent during the Agrishow event, the largest agribusiness fair in Latin America, this Thursday morning (2), in Ribeirão Preto, in the interior of São Paulo.
According to the Military Police, officers were called to respond to an accident that occurred around 9:30 in the morning. An aircraft performed a takeoff maneuver at the location and ended up causing the fall of an event structure.
At least two people were injured and civil firefighters attending the event helped the victims. One of them suffered a head injury and was taken to the local Emergency Room in serious condition.
In a statement, the organizers of the event stated that the victims were transferred to hospitals in the region after the first treatment on site.
“The organization informs that it is investigating the causes of the accident, as well as providing assistance to those involved”, added Agrishow.
The event, which opened this Sunday (28), reaches its 29th edition this year.
In 2024, figures from the political scene such as the Vice President of the Republic, Geraldo Alckmin, have already attended the event; the Minister of Agriculture, Carlos Fávaro; the governor of the state of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas; and former president Jair Bolsonaro.
