Agro Connection: Drop in the value of commodities is expected in 2023

The technical director of the National Confederation of Agribusiness (CNA), Bruno Lucchi, said in an interview with the Agro Connection this Sunday (25), that there is a downward trend in commodity prices for 2023.

Lucchi explains that economies around the world should continue to grow next year, but at less expressive rates than those of 2022. He also points out that inflation, despite being in a cooling process, should remain at high levels.

“On the one hand, demand will not be as heated. On the other hand, for some commodities, such as soybeans, production will be higher. So, the tendency is for there to be a reduction in commodity prices next year”, he pointed out.

While soy, corn and other inputs should follow this trend, wheat should be an exception to the movement, points out the technical director.

“Wheat is an exception, which will have a production problem, and we expect demand to remain strong”, he added.
