The Russian invasion of Ukraine, which began last Thursday (24), should generate impacts on the world economy. In Brazil, one of the sectors affected is agribusiness.
The ability to import Eastern European fertilizers and agricultural inputs must be compromised by the Russian invasion of Ukrainian lands. Currently, these items are at the top of the list of products imported by Brazil.
In addition, inflation is expected to get higher, impacting the price of grains such as soybeans and corn. According to CNN Specialist Marcos Fava Neves, the key to the issue lies in the duration of the crisis.
“The big variable is knowing the extent of this problem. If it ends quickly, we may not have much impact. But if not, it will be complicated, because a lot of fertilizer comes out of there and there is a very large grain production”, he commented.
