The daughter of a deceased actor, who for decades dubbed the voice of Sylvester Stallone in films translated into French, criticized the creation of a voice copy of your father by artificial intelligence developed for use in the new film “Armor ”.

ElevenLabs confirmed plans to recreate Dorval’s voice in a statement released on Monday.
“For nearly five decades, Dorval’s baritone has brought to life Stallone’s iconic characters – like Rocky Balboa and John Rambo – for the French public,” said the company. “Following his passing in February, we are planning to recreate Dorval’s voice using our AI technology.”
The statement says the company is working with Dorval’s family to preserve his voice.
“We agree that if the quality standard is not met, the film will be released with traditional dubbing – the family retains full control and will decide if and how this AI dubbing will be used,” said ElevenLabs.
“This is the first time our technology has been used in a major film. For us, it’s about showing how AI can support storytelling while respecting art and tradition,” the company added.
“Recreating Dorval’s voice is a way to preserve something meaningful for audiences, while also creating new opportunities in film.”
THE CNN contacted ElevenLabs and Bergé for comment.
The film “Armor”, which features Brazilian actress Isis Valverde, does not yet have a release date in Brazil.
