Donation to Petrópolis

The governor of Rio de Janeiro, Cláudio Castro, sanctioned this Thursday (17) the bill approved by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Rio de Janeiro with a donation of R$ 30 million for the city of Petrópolis to recover from the effects of the floods, which left more than 100 dead.

Federal government task force

The Minister of Health, Marcelo Queiroga, went to Petrópolis this Thursday (17), as part of the task force that the federal government set up to help the municipality. He is the prime minister sent by the federal government to the site. On Friday (18) the departure of President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and other ministers is scheduled.

Superior Electoral Court

Minister Luís Roberto Barroso, president of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), said that freedom of expression is important and needs to be protected against those who use it to destroy democracy. He also declared that the TSE had mounted a war strategy against disinformation. This Thursday (17) was his last session as president of the institution.

Aid for rural producers

The federal government is preparing an aid package for rural producers who suffered losses at the beginning of the year due to droughts in the South and Center-West regions.
