Using the wiretapping, which SYRIZA had largely underestimated before the revelations about the monitoring of Nikos Androulakis by the EYP, Alexis Tsipras seeks a strong shuffling of the political deck.

Obviously, the aim and goal in the first place is the predominance of the president of SYRIZA in the area of ​​the center-left:

1. Towing PASOK voters with a dilemma: Only voting for SYRIZA can oust the Mitsotakis Government

2. “Nets” to centrist voters, strongly dissatisfied with the prime minister for the wiretapping case and its management.

Polls

Koumoundourou is already aware of the polls that have been conducted during this period and will be published shortly (one of them in this week’s Sunday paper), according to which the political damage suffered by the government from the case of surveillance, is recorded at least as minor.

It is no coincidence that the representative of the party, Nasos Iliopoulos, mentioned the other day that no “magic poll image” will save the prime minister and the government. In this sense, the direct questioning of SYRIZA to public opinion polling and research companies continues, but to the interpretation of their results. After all, they have been proclaiming for a long time that only with the announcement of the elections will the powers of recording the real political associations be released.

Are they therefore ignorant and eager for the Autumn polls? Of course not. They monitor the trends incessantly and are worried internally about the low poll results of their party for the past three years. They simply think that in the aftermath of the monitoring and in view of the harsh winter that is coming, the poll picture will also change drastically.

Disappointment

Returning to the big political picture, Alexis Tsipras watches with satisfaction the wreckage of the possible post-election cooperation of PASOK-KINAL with the ND, the one that worried SYRIZA, hence he constantly pointed his arrows at Nikos Androulakis, asking to first answer with whom he will cooperate after the elections and then to commit that he will not cooperate with Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

In this mosaic, the distance that the centrist voices of the modernizing PASOK have received from the Mitsotakis Government, such as the former vice-president of the Government Samaras-Venizelos and the former president of PASOK, Evangelos Venizelos.

In the same context, the satisfaction in Koumoundourou for the sudden and severe criticism the Prime Minister receives for his actions in relation to the core of his commitments and his political profile, as a centrist liberal politician, devotee and guarantor of the Institutions.

This is why they enjoy, and even shake them with glee, publications in the foreign press, particularly critical of the government and the prime minister, in relation to the wiretapping case – and not only that.

It is, moreover, one more piece of SYRIZA’s main goal in the direction of the de-dramatization of its government. This and only to the extent that it will be achieved, will it be possible in practice to ventilate the “anti-SYRIZA” front and give real prospects of recovery to the official opposition party.

Elections

In his speech to the Parliament yesterday (Friday), Mr. Tsipras repeated to the Prime Minister the request to resign and lead the country to elections, but apart from a shocking prospect (that is, new revelations about surveillance), they do not believe in Koumoundourou that she will receive it easily Mr. Mitsotakis’s decision for elections in the Fall. On the contrary, they estimate that he will attempt elections much later, at least long enough so that they do not take place in the wake of the storm that broke out on the political scene due to the surveillance.

The President of SYRIZA, however, as it was shown during the discussion of the political leaders in the Parliament, has his eyes fixed on the interior of the ND, looking for “cracks” in the blue parliamentary group and taking advantage of the heavy atmosphere inside it, due to the heavy shadow that leaves the issue of wiretapping. However, a few of his interlocutors, including his associates, do anything but encourage him to bet on supposedly blue reactions.
