Air accident in Ubatuba: aircraft pilot worked for 4 years at Voepass

Pilot Paulo Seghetto, who died in the plane crash that occurred this Thursday (9) in Ubatuba, in the interior of São Paulo, worked for around four years at the airline Voepass – which, at the time, was called Passaredo Linhas Aéreas.

According to information on his social networks, Seghetto had worked as a professional pilot since 1997. At the time, he began his career as a co-pilot at Sete Táxi Aéreo, where he remained for 13 years and became captain of a Learjet 35, a medium-sized twin-engine executive jet. .

Between 2010 and 2014, he worked as a pilot at Voepass. Since then, he has dedicated himself to executive aviation.

The governor of Goiás, Ronaldo Caiado, lamented the pilot’s death on his social networks. The aircraft left Mineiros Municipal Airport, in Goiás (SWME), with five people and attempted to land in Ubatuba.

“We express our deep solidarity with the family and friends of pilot Paulo Seghetto, who unfortunately did not survive his injuries”, wrote the Chief Executive on his account on X (formerly Twitter).

The weather conditions were bad, with rain and a wet runway, when the aircraft arrived on the coast of São Paulo. After landing, the aircraft overran the runway, crossed the fence at threshold 09 and hit a woman and a child. Both are alive. When it exploded, a cloud of smoke filled the sky.

According to the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) system, the plane was denied operation for air taxis, but was regularized for private flights. According to the Brazilian Air Force (FAB), investigators from the Fourth Regional Service for the Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (SERIPA IV), a regional body of the Center for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (Cenipa), were called to carry out the initial action of the occurrence.

The plane that crashed belonged to the Fries family, farmers from Goiás. According to preliminary information, businesswoman Mireylle Fries, her husband, Bruno Almeida Souza, and the couple’s two children were on board at the time of the accident.

“To the four passengers of the Fries family, we dedicate our prayers, asking that God bless them and grant them a prompt and full recovery,” said Caiado.
