Air Canada launches flights to AIA – Connecting to Canada is on the table all year round

The positive messages for the tourist season are strengthened, at the level of air arrivals with Air Canada starting its routes from Montreal and Toronto to Athens earlier than ever.

As stated by the regional sales director of Air Canada, responsible for Greece, Stefano Casaregola, our country has the highest demand for travel from Canada this year, and is at the top of the preferences of Canadian citizens for summer vacations.

It is also characteristic that the AIA “Eleftherios Venizelos” and Athens, the two years of the pandemic, recorded the best performance against other possible European destinations, such as Rome, Madrid.

“The resumption of services this year in Athens is very important for us. Two very intense years have passed and we are now announcing our presence in Athens earlier than ever, we are very proud to start early with the expectation of maintaining the connection possibly throughout year “, said Mr. Casaregola.

“We are really excited to welcome Air Canada back to Athens again this year, and earlier than any other year,” said Ioanna Papadopoulou, Communications & Marketing Director, Athens International Airport, adding that the resumption of our direct connections to Montreal and Toronto for the summer of 2022, greatly enhances the interconnection of the city and our country.

Itineraries for Toronto started yesterday, March 28 and will be maintained, according to the schedule, until November 20, while for Montreal they start today until November 21. In fact, the direct flights will be carried out for the first time until November, while in previous years they were carried out until October.

In the summer, the data will be taken into account and the final decision will be made on whether Air Canada will connect Athens with Montreal and Toronto throughout the year.
