Air France announced today that it has launched an internal investigation into the flight of one of its planes into Iraqi airspace on October 1 during the Iranian missile attack on Israel. The company stressed that flight AF662 from Paris to Dubai was traveling at the time of the attack through a special runway used by all airlines in southern Iraq and fifteen minutes later left the country’s airspace, which had not been closed for the air traffic until 20:56 Greek time. “Without waiting for instructions from the Iraqi authorities, Air France has decided to suspend the flights of its aircraft in the country’s airspace from 20:00 (Greece time),” Air France said. “An internal investigation has been launched into this incident,” he added.
