Airbnb Inc. revenue jumped in the fourth quarter, with the travel booking company simultaneously announcing profits against losses a year earlier, exceeding analysts’ estimates, as broadcast by foreign agencies.
In particular, revenue rose 78% to $ 1.53 billion in the fourth quarter, Airbnb announced today.
Net income was $ 55 million from losses of $ 3.9 billion a year earlier. Earnings per share stood at 8 cents compared to analysts’ estimate for 3 cents, according to Bloomberg.
Airbnb also said it expects revenue to be between $ 1.41 billion and $ 1.48 billion for the current quarter, compared with analysts’ estimates of $ 1.24 billion.
The company’s shares jump 4.5% in electronic transactions after the announcement of the results.
