Airbus announced on Thursday that it had a net profit of 1.58 billion euros in the fourth quarter of 2021, slightly higher than the gain of 1.55 billion euros seen in the same period in 2020.
The European plane maker’s revenue fell 14% year-on-year between October and December, to 16.99 billion euros, due to a lower volume of deliveries.
Adjusted Ebit – which is a measure more closely monitored by investors – from Airbus amounted to 1.5 billion euros in the last quarter of 2021, 18% lower than a year earlier.
Despite the declines, both revenue and adjusted Ebit exceeded analysts’ expectations of 16.88 billion euros and 1.36 billion euros, respectively.
Airbus, which is based in Toulouse, France, also said it would propose a dividend of 1.5 euros per share for 2021, after not proposing a dividend for the previous year.
