Air strikes hit the area today Tigray of northern Ethiopia, as broadcast by the television network controlled by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Tigray (TPLF). The result was that many civilians were injured

Tigrai TV reported that the attack on the city was carried out by “Abi Ahmed”, referring to the Prime Minister of Ethiopia and the government forces he leads.

The army and the prime minister’s spokesman were not immediately available for comment.

An aid worker in Tigray said airstrikes had been carried out in Meckele. Reuters, as broadcast by the Athens News Agency, could not independently confirm the reports in an area inaccessible to journalists.

The Ethiopian army and its allies have been fighting forces from the northern region of Tigray for 11 months.
