Aito M5 EV electric crossover unveiled with 620 km range, HarmonyOS 3.0 and price starting at $41,000

Yesterday, September 6, Huawei held a fairly large presentation of its new products, which lasted for three hours. And although all attention was riveted on the Huawei Mate 50 smartphone, there was another star on this show that simply cannot be passed by. We are talking about the AITO M5 EV electric city crossover, which has an impressive list of advantages both in terms of driving and in terms of secondary multimedia capabilities. And it is worth recalling that literally in March of this year, the company introduced the AITO M5, but now they decided to transfer the ICE car to a fully electric power plant.

The AITO M5 EV crossover is presented in two versions – the standard one will sell from $41,470, while the “Productive” one will cost a potential buyer $45,985. In the basic configuration, the potential buyer receives one electric motor that drives the rear wheels. It is this version of the vehicle in energy saving mode that can travel 620 kilometers on a single battery charge. Accordingly, if you drive a crossover within the city to work or go shopping, then one battery charge may well be enough for several weeks.

The “Productive” configuration has four-wheel drive, two electric motors and the power reserve in this case is already 520 kilometers, which, however, is also quite decent. Unfortunately, the manufacturer is not eager to name the power or torque of these motors, but at the presentation it was said that the top-end equipment is capable of accelerating from zero to hundreds in just 4.5 seconds. Of course, this is far from a record for an electric car, but such dynamics will be more than enough for an urban crossover. And inside the cabin you can find the latest version of the operating system HarmonyOS 3.0 with support for Huawei Smart Cockpit technology.

This multimedia system opens the door for the user to the world of a huge set of applications that will run on a large touch screen, plus there is support for smart voice commands and many additional bonuses in conjunction with a Huawei smartphone. In addition, two 40W wireless chargers for smartphones and two 66W wired chargers can be found in the cabin. And the most interesting thing is that in just a few hours after the presentation, Huawei has already received more than 30 thousand orders for this electric car.
