One of the attractions on the Mundo stage, the main stage of the Rock in Rio festival, on Sunday (22), the Senegalese-American singer Akon 51, divided opinions in a performance full of hits, but with the use of playback for much of the time.
Akon shared some fan videos on his Instagram profile this Monday (23), and one of them caught attention for having negative criticism of the singer’s show. On the web, internet users raised doubts about whether the artist really understood the message he shared.
“Akon promised everything and delivered a bad playback, autotune and a DJ from shopeee”, says the internet user’s criticism.
During the show, Akon also went viral when he confused the location of the festival. Instead of addressing Rio de Janeiro, he said: “São Paulo, how are you feeling today?”
At another point, the musician tried to use an inflatable ball as a differentiator for his performance. The idea was to throw himself into the audience inside it, but the plan didn’t work out, as the object got punctured as soon as he went down the stairs that led to the audience.
The performance was also marked by sound failures, which led to a moment when Akon had to leave the stage.
Despite the criticism shared on Instagram, Akon also shared videos that praised the performance, especially the moments in which he performed the hits.
