Aksener cuts off Erdogan’s festivities, analyzes profits from Sweden-Finland deal

The President of the Good Party (İYİ), Meral Aksener, criticized on 29 June the way in which the Turkish government handled the efforts of Finland and Sweden in NATO.

Referring to the tripartite memorandum signed in Madrid and the festivals from the Erdogan camp“The signing of the government for Sweden and Finland, without any concrete developments, is, unfortunately, a concession that is incompatible with the interests of our country,” said the president of the nationalist party.

Speaking to members of parliament, Aksener recalled that the government had withdrawn its reservations about joining NATO for applications from Finland and Sweden. “However, it seems that the agreement reached last night, unfortunately, is far from meeting our expectations on very key issues,” he said.

The recognition of the PKK as a terrorist organization by Sweden and Finland is not a new situation, Aksener said. “The important thing was to see concrete actions that would put an end to the PKK’s presence in these two countries. Therefore, this signature of the government without any concrete developments from Sweden and Finland is, unfortunately, a concession incompatible with its interests. of our country “.

Because according to the text of the memorandum, the tripartite mechanism, which will be created to fulfill the promises, will enter into force after Sweden and Finland become members of NATO, Aksener noted.

The second issue is that the link that Turkey has established between the PKK and the YPG / PYD has been carefully separated from each other in the memorandum of understanding, Aksener said. He stressed that Turkey’s state policy is that the YPG, PYD and PKK are one and the same thing, however, while the fifth paragraph of the memorandum considers the PKK as a terrorist organization, the YPG and PYD are defined as threats to Turkey’s national interests. . In addition, while Sweden and Finland promise to monitor financial assistance to terrorist organizations and militant involvement, it is also noted in paragraph 5 that the PYD and YPG are excluded from it, he said. “In other words, financial assistance to the PYD / YPG is excluded from the scope of the agreement,” Aksener added.
