The President of SYRIZA-PS, Alexis Tsipras, and the Prime Minister of Northern Macedonia, Dimitar Kovachevski, discussed the war in Ukraine, the developments in the Western Balkans and the relations between Greece and Northern Macedonia.
According to the relevant announcement of SYRIZA, they stressed that the Prespa Agreement proved that the peaceful settlement of disputes based on international law is the only solution to nationalism and regional destabilization. The Prime Minister of Northern Macedonia referred to the great difficulties that the Western Balkans would face today if the Prespa Agreement had not led to the thawing of their European perspective. In this context, according to the announcement, the need to re-energize the EU in this direction and to proceed immediately with the accession process of Northern Macedonia was stressed.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs George Katrougalos and Rania Svigkou, responsible for P.G. of SYRIZA-PS. for International and European Affairs.
