Al. Tsipras: ‘Obviously Mr. Mitsotakis knew since May about increased mortality outside the ICU’

LAST UPDATE: 12.06

Kyriakos Mitsotakis is harshly criticized by Alexis Tsipras in a post on Twitter on the issue of ICUs, citing a study by Messrs. Tsiodra and Lytra.

“Study Tsiodra-Lytra from 5/21: 87% increased mortality outside the ICU, 38.5% of deaths would have been avoided if the NSS had been shielded”, writes the president of SYRIZA-PS, emphasizing that “obviously Mr. Mitsotakis when he answered me in Parliament “.

“Should I call him a liar? A political swindler? With 19,475 dead, the words lose their meaning,” he comments.

Mr. Tsipras’s post:

SYRIZA: Criminally indifferent

“SYRIZA moved in the same direction with its announcement, characterizing the prime minister as” criminally indifferent “.

In her announcement, Koumoundourou, citing the Tsiodra-Lytra report:

A few days ago, Mr. Mitsotakis claimed the unthinkable in Parliament, that “there are no indications that intubated people outside the ICU have a higher mortality rate.”

Today it is revealed that as early as May he has in his hands a study by Messrs. Tsiodra and Lytra, which shows that those who are intubated outside the ICU have an 87% mortality rate and that the NSS is unable to respond to the burden when there are more than 400 intubated patients, resulting in the death of patients who would live if hospitalized in other conditions.

Mr. Mitsotakis not only lied vulgarly to abdicate his responsibilities for the thousands of losses that could have been prevented. Not only does it consciously devalue science and common sense for its political benefit. But, although scientists have been warning him since May that the NSS will not endure and people will die, he did not and continues to do nothing to strengthen it. With the culmination of the Budget, which with 130 dead just yesterday and 1,318 in just 12 days in December, considers the pandemic over and cuts 820 million euros from Health expenditures, while even now refusing to order private and military hospitals.

Mr. Mitsotakis is not just a liar. “He is also criminally indifferent to the thousands of lives that could have been saved.”
