Alarm in Times Square for suspicious object

New York police called on citizens Monday to avoid Times Square in Manhattan “due to active police investigation”. Local media refer to a suspicious object found on the spot. “Avoid the West 43rd Road area and the 7th Avenue in Manhattan … expect the presence of emergency vehicles and delays in the wider area,” the section said in a Platform X. An aerial image published on the internet shows a section of two squares of the 42nd Avenue. Normally the area – one of the busiest in Manhattan – is full of vehicles and pedestrians on a typical business morning. Office employees in a building located in the center of the excluded part of the avenue was ordered to remove from the windows. Many gathered in the 3 Times Square building on the corner of the 43rd Street.
