Albania buys Turkish drones – Rama to Erdogan: We are proud to be strategic partners

Albania agreed with Turkey on the purchase drones Bayraktar. “We are proud to be on the same side and strategic partners with Erdogan,” said Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Turkish newspaper Hurriyet reports that in Tirana “an agreement was signed between the Albanian government and Baykar Teknoloji for the purchase of Bayraktar TB2 SİHA”, according to its correspondent SKYManoli Kostidi.

At the same time, he notes that Rama also mentioned that this is a very good day for the two countries and added that the relations between Turkey and Albania they are improving day by day and today they are at the best point.

Rama also said that the agreement is not only about the purchase of the drones, but also about the training of 30 people.

According to him, the base of the drones will be in Kukova and he added that “they will be ready for any purpose. We hope this never happens, but we live in insecure times. They can be used to counter any national threat.”

Rama also added that Turkish drones could also be used for civil protection purposes.
